The Richard Gere Shilpa Shetty Kiss

Ok, it was not just one kiss but many kisses. But, does it really matter? It seems to, at least for some insane fans and some equally insane Shiv Sainiks. All you shiv sainiks and bajrang dal, go to hell! These are people with absolutely nothing at the top. They are die-hard fans of Shilpa Shetty and so, they have the right to feel that each and every one of them owns Shilpa and no one else can touch her!
How can Richard Gere kiss Shilpa Shetty in public and do something detrimental to our Indian culture? The actress can smooch her way to success in movies, but that's ok. Those are movies and not real life. But, the same gang of lunatics go up in arms if a movie like fire is made. Cmon, that is also a movie!
Let me give you a piece of advice. Don't burn effigies of Shilpa or Richard Gere. Burn yourself, attempt self-immolation. At least India would have few lesser lunatics around!

indian films churn out the most vulgar crap ever, never mind kissing scenes the "normal" scenes the actresses are virtually naked.be more reflective indian movies have more embarrassing and vulgar scenes than even a western film. and atleast in western films the scenes are more appropriate to the script. get a life rather than ranting and raving.

I am very pleased India has such a celebrity like Shilpa Shetty. Shilpa Shetty is representing India and is helping to open doors and share the Indian culture to the rest of the world, and i am sure she must be very pleased and delighted she is classed as a daughter of India.
But just because she is a daughter of India, does it give india the right to totally own her and take away her right to make her own choices in life?

I had realised a previous Anonymous blogger had mentioned rape. Rape is an act which is forced upon or commited on a person without the victims consent, and every person should have the the right to not be raped.
I not sure if there are Laws in India against the public display of kissing of this kind and i apologies if i am wrong and there is laws against it, (sorry but my knowledge of india's laws is limited) but i think there is no laws against the display of public kissing so i will say this...

Previous Anonymous blogger i think you are either jealous or just have a personal issue with a white man kissng a indian lady. I do not understand why you Anonymous blogger or anyone can blame Richard Gere, Shilpa Shetty did not disagree with Richard Gere kissing her so there for no one is guilty. If Shilpa Shetty did not approve of Richard Gere kissing her then you would have every right to blame Richard Gere and call him guilty.

Yes of course Shilpa Shetty should not ever be blamed for this, Shilpa Shetty should only belong to herself and have the right to make her own decisions. If a person should have the right to not be raped, then Shilpa Shetty should also be able to have the right to give consent to Richard Gere kissing her.

It should be Shilpa Shetty's right, she does not owe India or anyone any apology or explanation. Its her life.
Good luck to Shilpa Shetty

Previous Anonymous blogger i think you are either jealous or just have a personal issue with a white man kissng a indian lady. It is so symbolic? Actually the only thing symbolic is the reverse racism you have against white people claiming they are forceful. You are just the same as the asian guys who complain to me or look dirty at me as if I should give them an explanation just because I choose to date a white guy, they think they own me because I am an asian girl. I am sure you would not complain if it was an indian guy acting in the same way kissing Shilpa Shetty.I do not understand why you Anonymous blogger or anyone can blame Richard Gere, Shilpa Shetty did not disagree with Richard Gere kissing her so there for no one is guilty. Unless all the men in India are GAY...What person in his right mind won't kiss a hot babe like Shilpa Shetty? I'm sure many of these folks that criticized her are the ones sleeping at night wetting their beds thinking about her.
This woman is smart and beautiful and she is making headlines world wide. Stop raining and her parade and start your own Bollywood Star Search for all you no talent losers that just want to bellyache.

If you see a "colonialist" and a "white man" in that picture, then the only one with a problem is you. You are the one who focus' on the color of his skin. You are the hypocritical troll, and no one else. India: Land of the Sexist and Sheltered Life-Trolls.

Why isn't anyone considering this to be a compliment? A woman so beautiful that even a gay man is tempted? Wow.

Also, what is the "ultimate price" that Gere should be paying? Death? LOL!!!!!!!!!! Public display of affection equals death!!!!!!!!! LOL

When a women is kissed by a "RICHARD GERE" i think its a wow for me and its a priviledge for a girl to be kissed by a "RICHARD GERE". I think instead of giving bad comment to what Richard Gere did to an Indian Actress or Celebrity, but actually he just kissed Ms. Shilpa Shetty..we should take it positively. Kissing in public is very common in our times. We are not just born yesterday. (sigh!) I hope its me kissing by Richard Gere.lol.
